AUCKLAND, 6th January. The Japanese cruiser Soya was thrown open to the public this afternoon, and the opportunity of visiting the warship was availed of by large-numbers. Tomorrow afternoon the flagship Aso will also be thrown open. Colonel Boscawen, A.D.C., yesterday called upon Admiral Kato and, by direction of Lord Islington, invited him to visit Government House, Wellington.
