The murderer was prevented from committing suicide. I. Martini law has been proclaimed in Buenos Aires, owing to the presence of an anarchist and the assassination of Senor Falcon. During the Mny Day demonstrations in Buenos Aire? a few months ago a riot was provoked by the anarchists, in the course of which twelve persons were killed and a hundred injured. This was followed by a. general strike, in which over two hun-dred thousand persons were involved, as a protest against the forcible suppression of a demonstration. For a time the trade of the port was paralysed. The Socialists and Labour Fede'-.-ition. put the responsibility for the dist arbance upon the prefect of police, whose resignation was demanded. After anot'aer outbreak of violence in connection with the funeral of one of' the victims, order was restored, and the strike terminated.
