GERMAN AID. MUTINY AT ZANZIBAR. ORDER RESTORED.
THE MUTINEERS OVERAWED,: By, Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright* {Received December 6, 9 a.m.) LONDON, sth December. The Standard's Berlin correspondent states that on the occasion of a recent mutiny at Zanzibar, the Sultan, Ali bin Hamoud bin Mahomed, asEed for British aid. The Vice-Consul, in the absence of the Consul-General, Mr. Basil Cave, C.8., was obliged, as .tho ■ British warships were 100 miles off, to seek German aid. The appearance- of a German, warship helped to overawe the mutineers and facilitated the officers' task of restoring order. The Government of Zanzibar is under British control, exercised through the British Political Agent and ConsulGeneral.
