CRICKET, NEW ZEALAND v. NORTH TAS MANIA. A BRILLTANT VICTORY FOR MAORILAND.

[PEESS ASSOCIATION.] Launceston, 13th February. The intercolonial cricket match was continued and concluded to-day. The wicket wore well, and was still in perfect order. Contrary to all expectations at the start of the game, it ended in a brilliant win for New Zealand by 150 runs. The New Zealanders, having made 245 in their first innings, to-day contiuued their second innings, which was interrupted on Saturday when the score stood at one wioket down for 80 runs. The New Zealanders were not disposed of until they had put up 285. Baker, Cobcroft, Lusk, Sims, Recce, Ashbolt, and Geo. Mills played capital cricket. The Tasmanians, requiring 202 runs to win and having two hours and a half left to get the runs, commenced a forcing game, which they utterly failed to negotiate. Upham and Downes neyer bowled better, and in a little over an hour's play the Launceston men were all out for a miserable 51, of which Windsor scored 22. The wicket helped the bowlers a little, but they were backed up by some splendid fielding, which was particularly oleau all through. t The win is all the more meritorious owing to the Northern players defeating the Southern players at New Year.
