KAHANAMOKP BREAKS 'ANOTHER RECORD. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Dunedln, February 26. A swimming tournament was held tonight in the Municipal Baths, under the auspices of the Otago Centre of the N.Z.A.S.A.; in connection with the 'visit of Duke Kahanamoku iand G. Cunha. The baths were crowded. The two Hawaiians were down to compete in the Inter-Club Handicap, 100 yards, and Inter-Club Dash Handicap, 33 1-3 yards.' Both were decided in two heats, but neither of the visitors' appeared in. the heats. In the final 100 yards race both gave a brilliant'exhibition, Kahanamoku 'coming first,'and Cunha second. Kahananioku established a fresh New Zealand record for the distance, beating his Christchurch time (57sec.) ' by 2se6. Cunha appeared in the final of the 33 1-3 yards race, but the handicap proved too severe. He secured second place owing to Wheeley, who finished second, being disqualified for starting before His time. Kananamoku gave,an exhibition of different strokes, which was commented on as marvellous.

On Saturday afternoon next at Te Aro Baths, Duke Kahariamoku, champion swimmer of the world, and his swimming companion, Geo. Cunha, will appear in a grand swimming carnival, to be oonducted by the officials of the Wellington Swimming Centre. In addition to the visitors' performances a first-class programme of events will be carried out, including a flying squadron teams relay race, which always -provides ,nvuoh..exoitement. As the Duke will only be available for one day, the oarnival will take place wet or fine. He' then leaves for the north to fulfill engagements at. various carnivals.
