STIRLING BACHELORS' BALL.

, .The Stirling Bachelors' Annual Ball was bi'l<Pin the Stirling Hall on Friday evening and ' must be classed as one of the most successful of the many annual enjoyable reunions given by- the local bachelors. : A strong and c noetic committee left nothing undone to ensure the enjoyment of the gathering, and the results achieved were highly satisfactory. The floor was in fine ordtu-, and about 65 .couples were present, rather a liu-ge numb- r for the size of tKe hall but. this did not seem in any way to interfere with tho enjoyment and sociability of those present. Visitors . were • present from Balclutha, Milton, Clinton, Kaitangata, and Hillend. The music- was supplied by Messrs Himmell of Dunedin, and as goes without saying, left nothing to be desired. Messrs.. W. J. M'Donald, G. Byers, and C.Byers were courteous and capable in the ■ discharge of their honerous duties as M.C's.The catering was in the hands of Mr C. Eedpath, of Clinton, and. for abnndance and variety, gave universal satisfaction. During the evening Messrs W. Davie and, W. J. j .M'Donald contributed soDgs, Mr'Broome danced a hornpipe and Mr Davie. a clog dance. Dancing was kept up with great vigour till half -past 4 o'clock in the morning, -.when the gathering broke up, everyone having enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
