BOROUGH COUNCILS.

SUMNER. A meeting of the Sumner Borough Coiin-i.-ii was held last evening. Present: The Mayor (Mr W. H. Nicholson) and Crs. I". C. Cooper. H. "W. Harris, C. T. Denham, A. Holdea. E. F. Sandford, and D. F. Oldridge. The Engineer reported that footpaths and water-tables in Redeliffs had been cleaned and lupins and gorse cleared in several Sumner streets. Grading had been carried out on the Scarborough road, Wakefield avenue, and Lyttelton hill, and the main road from Maffey's corner and the Sumner Post Office wag now being repaired.
