FENDALTON ROADS

LOAN POLL TO-DAY. £29,475 FOR PAVING SCHEME. Ratepayers in the Fendalton riding of the Waimairi County to-day will rote on tb« proposal to borrow £29,475 for the reconstruction of certain roads in the riding.

The roads to be reconstructed are within an area bounded by W ebb s road Ham road, Carleton road, lliceartou borough, and Christchurch City, CK'de road, Idris road, Jeffreys road from Clyde road to Idris road, Straven read, and Fendaltonrroand —n total ot three miles —will be laid down in asphaltic concrete, with a surface coat 2£in thick, superimposed on a base course.

The following roads are to be given two coatings of bitumen at the start, a third one within 12 months, and possibly a fourth within five years:— Bryndwr road, Bradnor road, Clyde road, Carreg road, Creyke road, Chiloombe street, Desmond street, Elmwood road, Glandovey road, Gordon road, Helmore's road, Heathfield street, Harakcke street, Hamilton street, Hinau road, Jackson's road, Jeffreys road from Idris road to Wairarapa terrace, Kiwi road, Kaka street, Kotare street, Kahu road, Kauri street, Korari street, Lothian street, Miro street, Plynlimon road. Poynder avenue Park jane, Puriri street, Puknki terrace, Queen's avenue, Rhodes street. Ruru road, Rochdale street, Stratford street, Snowden street, Strowan road, Tui street, Taylor's road, Totara street, Wrox ton terrace, Waiwetu street, Weka street, Wairarapa terrace, Waiiti street, and Montana avenue—a total of 11 miles.

Holm wood, Fendaiton. and Bnrnside roads, which are secondary highways, will be done in conjunction with the Hichways Board.

The polling hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the polling places are: Council Chambers, North road, Papanui; City, No. 1A Chancerv lane; St. Barnabas' Schoolroom, Clyde road; garage, corner Jeffreys and Idris roads; Parage, No. 41 Holmwood road, opposite Helmore'a lane.
