Tie Trustees of the Biccarton Bush forwarded the report for the year ended March 31st. It detailed various improvements ■which had been made in the biiah, which wag in excellent condition. The bush had been taken advantage of to a great extent for the teaching of botany in connexion with the work of Canterbury College. The bush had been visited by members of tho Science Congress in February, and by the City Council, nnd both parties had expressed pleasure at tho condition of the bush. KAIAPOI. The fortnightly meeting of the Koiapoi Borough Council waa.held last night. Present—Tho Mayor (Mr J. H. Blackwell), Crs. T. R. Leithead, H. Macintosh, "W. Wallace, J. Smith, J. Bfimard, I?. Dune, R. Wylie,. and \V. Doubleday. The Hospital Board wrote stating'that persons who were in ;» position to pay for attention received in the temporary hospital during the epidemic were 'expected to do so. '.The Board ako wrote stating 1 that it proposed to supply local medical men with vaccine. The letter was received. A letter from the Kaikoura A. and P. Society urging the completion of the Main Trunk Line was i-eoeived and supported. : The Runanga Borough Council's resolution: urging the development of thft new' coal on the State mino property wa« eupp6rted. A letter from the Public Works Electrical Department asking the Council's support in urging consumers to exercise all economy in the use of electric heaters, etc., was referred to the Lighting Committee. The Reserves Committee recommended that £30 be placed on the estimates to plant trees on the Council reeerves. Tho Finance Committee reported—Receipts £9 17s 6d, bank debit balanco £524 5s 7d. A deputation from the Kaira<ki Householders' Association waited on the Council pointing l out the need for a bridge-at the' mouth of the Saltwater Creek.
