He also reorospnted Lvtteltou in the General Assembly during 18701879. Mr -Mniray-Aynsley had long I eeli a valued member ot the Gantorbui\ A. and I'. Association, idling the post of president, and always working enthusiastically lor tho advancement ot agricultural and pastoral interests. Ho Jiad ahso l>een a prominent member of the Chamber of Commerce since I SOD, and was president during the years 1803 and 1804. Among other public bodies with which" he was Intimately connected was the C'liristchu rch Domain Hoard, of which he was chairman for a lou ,r period. Ho was a lieutenant in the' iinst Lvttelton Rifle Volunteers, a member of the first Lyttelton Borough Council, and was also a member ot the Lvttelton Harbour Hoard, being hrst ilet;ted in IS7(>. In the same year he succeeded the Hon. F. A. Weld a S president of the Canterbury Rifle Association. The lato -Mr Miu;rav-Ayn*-lev married a daughter of Mr ihomas Campbell, of Edinburgh, m l8o». His wife pro-deceased him in 18J.J, leai ing a family of four sons and three daughters, three i-ons and two daughters surviving him.
