IN pursuance and exerniae of the powers vested in it in that behalf by 'The Christchurch Tramways District Act, 1903," "The Christchurch Tran.ways District Act, 1900, Amendment Act, 1003," "The Local Bodice' Loans Act, 1001," "The Local Bodies' Loans Amendmtnt Act, 1302," and "The Local Bodies' Loans Amendment Act, 1903," and of every other power and authority thereunto or in that behalf enabling iv THE CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD hereby resolves as follows : — THAT for tlie purpose of providing interest and other charges on a loan of £250,000, increased by an additions loan of £100,000 ranking pari passu therewith, making iv al. a loan of £350.000 authorised to be raised by the Christchurch Tramway Board under the above-mentioned Act for the purpose of purchasing, extendir.p. altering, renewing, repairing, and equipping existing tramways, including the us© of electricity aa a motive power, and for the purpose of adding to and extending the trsmwav system, tlie said CHRISTCHURCH TRAMWAY BOARD hereby makes and levies a special rata of eightpence and two-fifths of a penny in tho pound upon the rateable value of aL rateable property (according to the annual rateable value thercoi) of tho Christchurch Tramways District (with tho exception of the RiccartonSockburn Sub-District thereof) comprising— ALL THAT area in the Canterbury Land District bounded towards the north generally by lawyer's Arms road from the Fendalton and Sawyer's Arms Junction road to the Christchurch-Hurunui railway line; thenoe by that railway line to Northcoto road; thence by Northcoto road to North road; thence by North road to Winter's road; thenca by Wintor's rood to Hi.l'g road; thence by Hill's road to the norlh-western corner of Section No. 1052, Christohurch Survey District; thence by Sections Nos. 1053, 1139, and 7671 to the Canal and Road Reserve, across that reserve, and by Sections Nos. 1131, 1053, 6007, and 3950 to Bottle Lake road; thence by Bottle Luko road to Cemetery road; tbenco by tlie road forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 18184, 5675. 5624, and 5673, intersecting Section No. 5492, forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nos. 3672, 5155, 6757, and 6856, intersecting Reserve No. 1579, and forming the northern boundaries of Sections Nob. 33181. 32867, and 17673, and the southern side of that road produced to the sea; thence towards the south-east generally by tho sea to Godlcy Head; thence towards the south generally by Lyttolton Harbour to the Borough of Lyttciton; thence by the Borough of Lyttelton as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 53, 17th September, 1885, to Mount Ploasant road near the southwestern corner of Seotion No. 247 a, Block 11., Sumner Purvey District; thonce by the said Mount Pleasant road to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 1313, Christchuroh Sur» vey District; thence by the said Section No. 1319, Seotion No. 248 a, Reserve No. 40, and Section no, 19 to tho road forming the southern boundary of Section No. 77; thenoe by that road to the Christehurch-Lytte'.ton railway line-; thenco by that railway lino to Opawa road near the bridge over the"Heathcote river; thence by the Opawa road to Martin's road; thence by Martin'b road to Hil.'s road; thence by Hill's road to the road running east from Trig. Station Q; thence by that road and the road forming the eastern boundaries of Sections Nos. 6863, 2116, I 11465, and 2135. Christohurch Survey Die- ! trict, to the south-eastern corner of the lastmentioned section; thenoe by Sections Nos. 34655, 1935, 34653, 2047 to Dyer's Pass road; thenoe by Dyer's Pass road to the south-east-ern corner of Section No. 2040; thence by ths southern boundary line of the said Section No. 2046 to its westernmost corner; thence by a right line to the sbutnernmoet corner of ection No. 649; thenco by the south-western , boundary line of the said Seotion No. '649 and its production to the Heathcote river;' thence by the Heathcote river to the Plantation and Road Reserve; and thence by the Plantation and Road Reserve to Sutherland's road; thence towards the west generally by Sutherland's road to Milne's road: thenoe by Milne's road to Lower Lincoln road; thenco by Lower Lincoln road to Dunbar's road; by Dunbar's road and Eogleson's road to the rood forming the western boundary of Seotion No. 827, Christohurch Survey District; thenoe by that road and Middle Lincoln road to the Lincoln and Riooarton Junction road; thence by the Lincoln and Riccarton Junction road to the southern railway line; thence easterly by the said railway line to Cutler's road: then?* northerly along Cutler's road to the southern boundary of ' Section No. 153; thence easterly, passing- Sections Nos. 153, 153 a, 155, 145, and 10, to the West lown belt; thence northerly along the said West Town belt to Fendalton road; thence by that road to the Christchurch-Hurunui railway line; thence by the said Christchuroh-Hurunui' railway line to Wairarapa road; thence by Wairarapa ioad to the Fendalton and Sawyer's Aims Junction road; thenoe by the Fendalton and Sawyer's Anns Junction road to the Sawyer's Arms road,, the place of commencement. Also all I that area of land, part of tho Heathoote Road District, comprised within the following boundaries, commencing at the junction of Opawa road and Martin's road; thenoe by the north-west side of Martin's .road to Hill's road; thenoe by the south-west side of Hill's road to the road running west to -Trig.- St*tion Q; thence generally easterly ly. the southerly side of Hill's road to its Junction with Opawa rood; thence northerly along the easterly side of Opawa rood, to Gedd's road; thence along the southerly and easterly side of Gadd's road to the Christchurch-Lyt-telton railway line near Woolston Station; thence by the south-west boundary of the railway land to Opawa road neat the bridge over tho'Heathcote river; thence by the north-east side of Opawa- road to. Martin's road the point of commencement; the ssid area including the full width of the roads forming the boundary thereof;, as the same is delineated on the plan /marked P.W.D. ,20630 deposited in the offioe of the Minister for Publio Works at Wellington in the Provincial District of Wellington and thereon bordered red. ■ AND that such Special Rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan and be payable half-yearly on the Ist day of April and the Ist day of October in each and every year during the currency of suoh loan, bring a period of thirty years from tho Ist of October, 1904, till the loan is fully paid off.
