Mr G. Fannin, who has been secretary to the Hawke's Bay Education Board for tho past thirty years, has resigned that position. Mr Ritchie, headmaster and deputysuperintendent of Hem-haw's Asylum for the Blind at Manchester. England, hasbeen recommended by the High Commissioner, and approved by tho trustees, for the position of principal of the Auckland Jubilee Institute for the Blind, in place of Mr J. W. Tighe, whose connection with the institute ceased some months ago. The Rev. J. G. Chapman, Rev. Mr Perm. Major Creswell, Sergt. Bourke, Mr Hallenstein, and Mr A. Father Tubman left Timaru on Saturday last on a trip to Europe. Sub-Inspector Green arrived in Timaru yesterday to take charge of the Solice station there, in place of the late ergeant Warring.
