MAIN TRUNK BLOCKED.

GOODS TRAIN DERAILED. LEAVES RADLS AT NGAROTO. Main line derailments are becoming frequent on the New Zealand railways, the latest having occurred at 9 o'clock last v evening at Ngaroto, when four wagons and a guard's van left the rails. This is the second derailment of a goods train within the last two months, on the Auckland section, which has blocked Main Trunk traffic. There have been other derailments of single wagons on the main North Island line, but these have not caused much inconvenience.

The train which caused the blockage last evening was that commonly known as the "express coal train," and it runs from Huntly to Palmerston North. As it was passing through Ngaroto Station, which is two miles north of Te Awamutu, the four LA wagons and the van left the tracks.

On inquiry at the head office of the Railway Department in Auckland this morning a "Star" reporter was informed that up to that time the cause of the mishap had not been ascertained. No one was injured.

The accident caused some damage to the permanent way, and traffic was resumed by using the loop line at the station.

The Limited express, which left ""here at 7.10 p.m., was held at Ohaupo for about three hours, and the ordinary express was similarly detained at Frankton Junction.

The first express from Wellington to Auckland did not arrive here till 8 a.m. to-day. The Limited, however, reached Auckland on time, and came through Ngaroto on the main line early this morning.
