The Western Maori District returns are all in, with the following results :— Te Wheoro, 991 ; Hamiora Mangakihi. 223 ; Mita Karaka, 140 ; and William Hughes, 75. The declaration of the poll for the Hutt took place to-day. The positions of the candidates are unaltered. Everything passed off The declaration of the poll for Te Aro and South Wellington takes place on Wednesday. , Mr W. Brown's house at Ohariu was burnt to the ground on Saturday. The origin is unknown. The contents were uninsured, but the National had aline of £600 on the building * Dec. 13. A slight shock of earthquake was felt at one o'clock this morning. The shii) Orari, 101 days from London, is anchored at the Heads.
