SOLWAY COLLEGE.
CONCERT BY PUPILS,
Tho second annual concert was given by the pupils at Solway College on Saturday evening. There was a good attendance of parents and friends, and the concert went with a good swing.
The Rev. Robert Inglis, M.A., spoke in terms of appreciation of the good work done by tho College staff and the progress made by the pupils. The following programme was submitted, the finished manner in which the various items were rendered reflecting great credit upon the pupils and also showing the careful training of Mr A. B. Wallace (musical director), the teachers (Misses Moncrieff and Jones), and the Rev. L. Thompson, M.A.: — Quartette, "Grand March" (2 pianos), Rose Percy, Rita Evans, Eiri Knox and Emma Dickens; action songs, junior students; piano solo, "Tempo di Ballo," Carrie McGregor; class singing, "I Know a Bank"; piano solo, "Allegro," Nellie Stewart; duet, "Morning Mood." Gladys and Olive Napier; recitation (humorous), "Little Orphan Annie," Marjory Astley; piano solo, "Walt 2in E," Mabel Cobb; class singing, (a) "Where the Bee Sucks," (b) "Farewell" (unaccompanied); piano solo, "Hunting Song," Clarice Ingley; duet, "Spanish Dance," Ellen and Winnie Barrow; vocal solo, "Turn Ye to Me," Nola Odlin; piano solo, "Valse in C sharp Minor," Maisie Tinkham; class •recitation, "He Fell Among Thieves"; piano solo, "Impromptu in A Flat," Betty Fuge; duet, "Kammenoi Ostrow; piano, Maisie Tinkham: organ, Mr A. B. Wallace; piano solo, "Etude in G flat" (Black Study), Miss A. M. Jones, L.A.8.; concerto, "Finale Movement G- minor Concerto," Miss A. M. '" v Jones; orchestral solo and accompaniment on 2nd piano, Miss K. Moncrieff: "God Save the King."
