(By Telegraph — Press Association.) Auckland, Last Night,

The result of the election for the vacant Manakau seat, with the exception of one small return not yet to hand, but which will probably only increase the majority, is as follows: - F. W. Lang, Opposition 2501 G. Ballard, Government 1266 Majority for Mr Lang 1235 Mr Massey, in thanking the electors for returning an Oppositionist and freeholder, said the tremendous majority showed what the electors thought of the freehold proposals of the Government.
