DUNEDIN GAOL ENQUIRY.
Wellington, July 16.
The Commissioners appointed to enquire into the mpnagement of the Dunedin Gaol, sat here this morning, and took tbe evidence of the Dnnedin prisoner, Cummock, who had been transferred to Wellington. Cummock spoke strongly against Mr Caldwell, and his evidence was not at all favorable to the management. The prisoner alsogave evidence as to witnessing improprprieties between male aud female prisoners. The enquiry was adjourned until Tuesday morning.
