YESTERDAY'S APPEALS
The following appeals were dealt with yesterday by Messrs D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., D. McLaren, and \V. Perry : — Extended leave, on employers' appeal, was granted to Robert Cnldwell, ploughman, Westmere, Wanganui. Employer's appeal was also upheld ' in the case of Edward James Turner, farm manager, Wanganui. lii tho case of Norman Rhind Bain, soldier on active service, decision « ras ' held over till the nature of his wound j is ascertained. The Borough Council appealed for William Henry McCaul, assistant To^vn Clerk. Granted, being C 2. Leave till January was granted Lionel Brandon, clerk, Aramoho. G. F. M. Moore, farmer, was granted leave till January. The hearing of the employers' uppeal on behalf of Fred. Openshaw, cabinetmaker, Wanganuij was postponed till December sittings. The appeal of Robert William Bull, builder, Wanganui Ease, will be heard at 10 a.m. to-day. December sittings was the date fixed for hearing the adjourned appeal of Gerald Naughton, storekeeper, Wanganui. Leave till April draft was granted to George Darbyshire, County Clerk, Wanganui. The appeal of Howard Wellington Paul, draper, Wanganui, was withdrawn. Also the appeal of Harry James Duffy, bushman, Wanganui. The hearing of the appeal of Simon Frascr, farm manager, Fordell, was adjourned till December, and the #ippoui of Herbert Benyon, freezing chamber hand, till next sittings. The appeal of William George Arthur Burrett, builder, Wanganui East, was withdrawn; also the appeal of Alfred John Fly nil, factory asst., Wau--ganui. As there was no appearance of Thomas William Battell, clieese factory asst., his appeal was dismissed-. John Joseph Bruen, painter, the only surviving son, appealed on the grounds of undue hardship, asking exemption. —Appeal allowed. ( Leslie Charles Rutledge, motor gar- , age proprietor, appealed on the grounds of unduo hardship, asking for time.— i Further hearing adjourned tiil January. In the appeal of W. H.
