RAGLAN.
An effort is to be made to reduce the debt en the Congregational Church. With this olject a special floral service will be held uu Sunday, 13th inst. The sacred edifice will be decorated, and the Kev. G. Parr will preach special sermons. Mr M. Galvao, who is well known in the Waikato, was united in wedlock to Miss Curtis, of Kawhii. The Kev. Mr Mitchell performed the ceremony. One effect of the heavy wiuds lately experienced was the overturning of the beacon on the hill in Baweo S'reet. Percy, a son of Mr \V. J. Smith, met with an accident in the schoolgrounds on Tuesday last. He olimbed oue of the pine trees growing round the school, when ho lost his balance and fell to the ground. Upon examination by Dr. ."Sanders it was fouud that the bone of oue of his arms was injured. The boom in ilax continues. Mr Rutherford has recently put in another mill at Kaitoke Bay. The auxiliary ketch Marakopa arrived here from Aotea ou Thursday with a large punt in tow, which is to be used by Mr Rutherford iu connection with his several flax mills.
