A MAYORAL ELECTION.
fPiB Peess. Association.l PALMERSTON NORTH, Nov. 9. The Borough Council last Bight elected Mr P. T. Wood, Mayor, in succession to Mr Snelson, deceased. Mr F. Pirani, M.H.R., was also a candidate. The voting was —^Wood 6, Pirani 4. Mr Pirani afterwards resigned his seat, on the ground that he had been misled.
