At the householders' meeting, at Richmond last night, the Chairman, Mr R. J. PauU, said tJhaib the water supply at the school was an excellent one, but the closets, although scrupulously clean and! well supplied with water, were old and rotten, and be strongly urged the incoming cammitbet to ask the Education Board to erect new buildings in brick. . The Christchurch Liedertafel will give a Hen-en abend, or smoke concert, on Thursday, May 4. This will be the first concert given by the Society since the return of its conductor,. Mr F. M. Wallace, from England. During his visit to London Mr Wallace procured for the Society a number oi part songs, and several of these will be sung at tne concert. Brackenfield. The hunting party numbered about twenty-five, including Mr G. B. Starky, Master of the Hounds, amd Mr P. Rickman, humtsman. The hounds were in good fettle, but the scent was too poor for thoroughly gcod sporb. Two dodgy runs were obtained, and one ended in a kill. The field was 1 entertained at lunch by Mr Starky.
