APPOINTMENT OP ME PERCEVAL.
[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT. I WELLINGTON, Sept. 15.
At a meeting of the Cabinet to-day it was decided to Bend Mr Perceval, Chairman of Committees, to England as AgentGeneral.
On tho Premier announcing tlie appoint* ment oil Mr Perceval, Mr lielleaton congratulated him on his success tit such an early period of his life, but held that the office should be filled by an older man. Mr Perceval was warmly congratulated. The Chairmanship of Committees iB again vacant.
The general opinion is that the Government has made an excellent choice, Mr Perceval standing very high indeed in the estimation of the House. He has shown; judgment, modesty and ability, and it is thought that he is likely to Bucceed in anything he undertakes. Certaiuly it diligence and conscientiousness can ensure euccesß, Mr Perceval's succobb is assured. He will be followed by the warm regard of all who have corno in contact with him. Mr Bolleston acquitted himself exceedingly well in his congratulatory speech.
