Mr Robert Winter at Wellington.
[Per Peebb Association.] WELLINGTON, Oct. 31. Mr Eobert Winter, a city candidate, addressed a meeting to-night. He was opposod to the present Government. He expressed himself in favour of a graduated or progressive land tax, and would strongly support a protective policy. He would like to see the Legislative Council made elective. The present system of education should be retained in its entirety. All disputes between capital and labpurshould be referred to arbitration, by which means strikes and lock-outs would be avoided. The candidate received a vote «f confidence.
