[Per Anglo-Attstealian Pbess Telegbaph Agency.] Taubanga, Aug. 10. Arrived — Luna, last night, at five o'clock. She placed buoys in tho harbour, landed tho Government monument to thedeceased friendly Makctu natives, and left at eleven at night for the East Capo and Poverty Bay, thence via Napier to Wellington.
AKAROA ELECTION. [From a Special Correspondent.] Akaboa, Aug. 10. Mr Montgomery was proposed by Mr H. "Watkins, and seconded by Mr J. H. Mingway, and returned without opposition. Mr Montgomery briefly returned thanks.
