Disraeli, the favourite, held the leading position, but collapsed at the hill. Batt and Wantage going strongly assumed leading positions. Jeddah, who up to this point had been running m the last division, began to come up a quarter of a mile from home, m company with Dieudonne and Dunlop. Jeddah challenged Batt two hundred yards from the 'winning post, and after a game struggle, won by three-quarters of a length. Time— 2min 47sec. Madden rode the winner. It was Mr Larnach'a first trial for the Derby. He i
