Mr George Hutchison, formerly M.H.11. for I'atea, arrived by the Turakina on luesday from South Africa, on a visit to New Zealand. Mr John MeN.nr, of the field staff of the Public Works .Department in the Stratford district, has been ap. pointed assistant engineer to the Wellington and Maniiwatu Railway Company. Mr M. W. C. Sprott, 15.A., has been nominated by the Professorial Board of V ictoria College to represent the college ill the forthcoming election for the Rhodes Scholarship, which takes place in Wellington on February Bth. .Mr Sprott is a son of the Rev.
