CITY OF NELSON.

Yesterday three candidates —Messrs J. B. Harrison, W. Lock, and J. Piper —were nominated for the office of Mayor of the City of Nelson. Mr Harrison was nominated by Messrs H. Baigent (tho present Mayor), and W. W. Snodgrass; Mr Lock by Messrs Frank Moore and J. M. Calder; and Mr Piper by Messrs J. W. Harris and T. S. Chisholm. The election will take place on Wednesday next, and the following polling places have been appointed : —Mrs Anderson's] cottage, Waimea Road; Mr Bashford's cottage, Brook street: Harbor Oflice, the Port; Provincial Hall; and Oddfellows' Hall (principal).
