LABOUR PARTY IDEALS.

The Labour members of the House held a meeting yesterday to consider the attitude of their party. An official announcement was made this evening, which may be taken as an expression of Labour's views on the coalition. The official announcement was as follows:—"To carry on its joint action with the Liberals, and for other purposes, and especially to preserve its complete identity, the Labour Party has appointed Mr Hindmarsh as its chairman. Mr Payne prefers to preserve his identity as an Independent Labour member." The following members form the pflicial Labour Party:—Messrs A. H. Hindmarsh (Wellington South), J. McCombs (Lytlelton), W. A. Veitch (Wanganui), A. Walker (Dunedin North), and P; G. Webb (Grey).
