A coal seam, which runs through the town, is baing worked on the adjoining block ; and an extensive Government Bush is reserved for the use of the town, suitable for building or domestic uses. The Kaitangata Lake hounds the town behind, with the Clutha River in its front, surrounded by large farms and an extensive area of agricultural land, — which make it a desirable and healthy abode, and the future MART AND EMPORIUM For supplying the whole of the Goldfields, sheep stations, and farms along the whole lino of the Molyneux llivcr.
