TRIAL FLIGHTS WITH MAILS.

Walsh Bros., of Kohimarama (Auckland) flying school, have submitted to the Postmaster-General proposals embodying a series of test flights by seaplane between Auckland and such provincial towns as Dargaville. Whancjarei, and Thames. They propose to leave Auckland on scheduled time after the closing of the mail, and carrying 801 b weight of mail, proceed to the destination decided upon. For the journey to Whangarei the promoters estimate to. cover the distance m 11 hours, and to Thames m 45 minutes. The proposal had been considered by the Minister, and as the outcome flights will be made during January, which is projbably the most settled month as far as weather is concerned m the northern centre. Seaplanes are the aerial medium selected "for these flights as the journeys to be made will be largely over the water.
