COERCING THE SULTAN. CONSTANTINOPLE, October 27. Turkey is spending half a million pounds on destroyers at the Elswick and Creusot works. ' (Five of the Ambassadors demand a collective .audience with the Sultan to impress on him the grave consequences of his persisting in his uncompromising attitude in regard to Macedonia. October 28. The Sultan of Turkey has peremptorily declined to grant a collective audience as demanded by the Ambassadors, and coercion on the part of the Powers is now regarded as imminent.
