PERTH, Juno 25. Tlie Piemier (the Hon. G. Leake), after rallying somewhat, collapsed, and died last night. ' BRISBANE/ June 30. Mr J. B. Stephens is dead; aged 67 yeard. THE HON. S. E. SHRIMSKI. AUCKLAND, June 25. The Hen. Mr Shrimski, M.L.0., died at; his residence this morning very suddenly. Mr Shrimski's death was unexpected. He had been laid up,a few days with a stricture, from which death resulted. [The Hon. Samuel Edward Shrimski, M.L.C., J.P., was born in 1830, at Posen, Prussia, where he received his early education. He married the niece of the lato Leopold Neumegen. For 12 years he resided in London, and afterwards in Melbourne, and came to New Zealand in 1861, settling at Oamaru. He has been four timea elected M.H.S. for Oamaru ; in 1884 he defeated the Earl of Seafield for that constituency. In 1885 he was appointed a member of the Legislative Coun6il. He has been Mayor of Oamaru, chairman of the Education Board of North Otago, and treasurer of the Hospital Board, and up to tho time of his death he held some of the mosfc important offices in the colony.] •*" Mr Joseph ioader died on Friday, at Lyttelton, at the age of 81. He came to Lyttelton in the Bangalore in 1851. He was the first to drive sheep over the bridle path from Lytteltou, and took part in the construction of the path. He leaves fire sons and a ckualitexj
