Most backers pinned their faith to Harrow for the Sandringham Foal -Stakes at Sandown Park, and the plunging led to his starting at an 11 to 8 odds on chance. The good thing did nob come off, however, and, failing to stay tha mile well, he made no fight when challenged insfde the distance by Sinopi, who won by three lengths. The field for the British Dominion Two-year-old Raco attracted only five runners to the post, but a grand race was witnessed between Stealaway and Longy. The latter was carrying a steadier of 9.9, giving 151b to Stealaway, who won a good race by a neck from the Trenton colt, who was found to be coughing whilst at the poet. Going on to Newmarket, the July Stakes had been looked forward to with peculiar interest aa affording an opportunity for the Prince of Wales's colt Diamond Jubilee to demonstrate the truth or otherwisa of the form he had shown in the Coventry Stakes at Ascot. This allowed Captain Kettle and Galveston, a couple ofi' outsiders, to battle out the finish, which, by a neck, went in favour of the first-named. In the Princess of Wales's Stakes tha Derby winner, Flying Fox, was called upon by the big task before him to set at, rest any doubts that may have been entertained as to his quality.
