Fitz Simon cut out the work from Rustious. Before reaching the bottom of the hill Bustious and Enniskillen had passed Fitz-Simon. Although Amphion carried his weight well until almost 'reaohing the brow of the hill he then compounded, and the race was now left to Rustious and Victorious, who had shaken off Enniskillen. The final effort of Victorious carried him to tbe girths of Ruaticus at the commencement of the enclosures, but he then travelled no faster, and Rusticus was holding his own until 'about 70yds or 80yds from the chair, when he swerved aoroas to tbe favourite, and going on won by a length and a half.
