Nunwick was beaten opposite the commencement of the royal enclosure, where Galore made his effort, and for a few strides held Ossory, but the latter shaking him off 100 yds from home, came on, and won in a canter by three lengths ; half a length divided second and third. Nunwick was fourth, Merry Andrew fifth, Bellatrix sixth, Aperse seventh; then 20 lengths' off came Arrandale eighth, with Lord Nelson 'a -similar distance behind him last. Time, 2min 52sec.
