" Rounding the Canal turn Queen A' 1 -V V waa closely pursued by Cambusmore ana Luuudary, but directly afterwards the latter drew to the front, and was attended by Doubloon, who was clear of Queen Adelaide, Boundary, and Eastern Emperor, with Middlethorpe and Perdita II next, The Sailor Prince heading the others, until entering the straight, when Queen Adelaide, Doubloon, and Boundary dropped away beaten, and Cambusmore rounded the bend closely followed by Eastern Emperor, with Middlethorpe next, and. PerditaJ 11, the Sailor Prince, and Kilcreene most prominent of the others. A quarter of a mile from home Oambusmore held out signals of distress and left the command with the favourite, who, however, was in trouble before reaching the distance, and Middlethorpe came out, hotly pursued by Per.iita 11. and The Sailor Prince.
