Kendal was the quickest off the mark, and made play for a couple of hundred yards, when he resigned to Cataract, who had a berth to herself on the right, and was followed by Kaunitz and Aerides, with St. Mirin and Sto Alvere in their heels. Tho Stockbridge opponents, Mephisto and Kendal, settled down side by side on the left, and Seaton brought up the rear to the Plantation, where Cataract and St. Mirin were beaten. The • command was then obtained by Mephisto, his successors beiug Kendal, Kaunitz, and Ste Alvere until half way down the hill, when Keudal challenged, and in so doing hung towards Mephisto. He was
