(JROH THE DAILY 3IMES COKRMPOHDENT.) On Wednesday afternoon, J. Dewe, Esq, Returning Officer for the County, declared the result of the poll taken on the Bth instant to be as follows :—: — BORNS. DYER. I Tokomairiro 22 43 Waihoh 14 19 EastTaieri 39 4 Dunedin 15 8 Inch Clutha 7 2 Lawrence 4 2 Warepa 1 0 Fomatiaka 0 0 102 73 Majority for Burns, 24. He therefore declared Arthur John Burns duly elected to represent the District of Bruce in the General Assembly of New Zealand. There were no spectators present. At East Taieri four votes were recorded by persons whose names were not on the roll. Their votes do not, however, appear in the above return.
