PRIVATE FRANK POLAND.
Still another life stolen away from our midst—young and promising. News was received this morning by Mrs Polond that her, sfon has been killed in action. Whenever will our losses cease ? Are any of our boys who so bravely .joined the ranks going to be spared to us? Private Frank Poland, second son, was one of uncommon promise, and only 22 years of age. He left New Zealand with the 12th Reinforcements from Hamilton, where previously he was a member of the staff of the Bank of New Zealand in that town, having been transferred from Paeroa. The young man was'born and educated in Paeroa, and was one of the most popular of boys in the whole of the district from, one end Uo the other, and. yet his young life is cut off so sadly and suddenly. 'Mr and Mrs Poland] have still another son at the front,, who we trust will at least be spared. We feel sure Mr and Mrs Poland will receive wide-spread sympathy in their sad loss.
