In the Paeroa Hiding Mr H. A. JilacVay is tha returning officer, and nominations will bo received at tho County Chambers, Paeroa. Mr W. Moore, who at present represents represents the Netherton Riding oa tho Council, announces that as the greater part of Netherton has been merged into Paeroa, ho will stand for the lattor ridiug. Mr Edwin Edwards also announces that he will he a candidate, and Mr H. Poland is also spoken of as likely to stand for County honours. Doubtless Mr Asher Cassrols will again come foiward, and with the sitting members—Messrs Cock, Shaw and McAndrew—there should be good material to chose from.

At Karangahake Mr M. D. Regan is the returning officer, and Messrs McGruer and Stackpole are the sitting members. We have not as yet heard of any other aspirants to the position, but doubtless thera will be an attempt to infuse new blood. Nominations are to be handed in to the Miners' Union Office, Kaiangahake." Mr Bowler, the sitting member for "Waitoa, will most likely have a walkover, but, for the information of anyone likely to contest the riding, we may state that Mr 0. B. Edwards is the returning officer, and that nominations are to bo sent to Bowler's Landing, Waitoa.

Mr H. McClelland announces that he is again a candidate for the representation of Waitekauri on the County Council. We hear he is to have opposition, and those who intend to stand must send their nominations t« Mr R. G. Farrelly. Waihi is a new riding, and is to be allowed two representatives. Mr H. P. Barry will no doubt be a candidate, and Mr D. Campbell's name is also mentioned in this direction. In view of the agitation for a borough at Waihi there will probably be quite a number of candidates for a seat on the Council. Mr W. -Corbett is the returning officer, and nominations are to be left at tlie County Office, Waihi.
