Mr L. Hotop, Queenstown, has been appointed a coroner. It is calculated that there arc 700 men engaged in bushfelling in tho Poverty Bay Mr O. H. The Tapanui Courier reports that Mr J. Duff the other day gathered a number of ripe strawberries from' bis garden near the town. The fruit was fully ripe, of good size, and quite- as palatable as in the proper season. Considerably over 10,000 head of store cattle were imported into the Taranaki district during last year to supply Ihu needs of the settlers.
