The ship Earl of Windsor was towed up on Satnrday evening, bringing from Twofold Bay a freight of 150 head of fat and store cattle. She made a passage qt ten days, but tad very unfavorable weather particularly towards the New Zealand coast, and during its prevalence lost,.about a .hundred head of her stick, her shipment having consisted of 250 head 60 of these being fat,. Her principal loss occurred during the heavy V.K. pale which was experienced in th« Pdiae latitude by,, the s s Omeo. The Earl of Windsor is chartered "for other two trips with freights of castle from the same place of shipment. ..-The barque' Bella Vista arrived at the Heads on Saturday afternoon, after one of her usually smart passages from Hobart Town. To the consignment of Messrs Fisher Brothprs, she brings .a large general cargo, including several Hobart Town Built boats one ot which is a very handsome regitta boat built by Mr Chandler. She is about 3Vfeet long, is whaleboat built, gig style, and is a very beautiful model. Previous to being forwarded to Dunedin, she was tried at Hobart Town by a good crew of four, and -was considered to possess tirst-rate racing qualities. • The ship Sir Ralph Abercrombie, which arrived at the Heads on Saturday.afternoon, and wa^ since towed up, has had a passage of 90 days from the Downs, or 91 days from Gravesend. Lefo -the Downs on the ldth of June; had westerly ard fogrgy weather in the channel, leaving the land on the 17th, and to the Line had fine weather all the way, crossing on the 19th of July in 22-50' W. Experienced strong S.E trades until lat. 32 S. -and long. 18-E, when they were lost, and subsequently had strong westerly winds but no, very bad weather until the 18th of August. On that day spoke the .ship Annie Wilson, from London to' Auckland with emigrants. On the following day, the chief officer of the Annie Wilson boarded the vessel,.and reported theerew and a number of passenger* to be in. a mutinous i state. Violence had been used towards the captain. The cargo was alleged to have been plundered,; ani there was generally a spirit of mutiny prevailiug, which necessitated the officers arming themselves in the ex cution of their duty, 'and the enrolment of sixteen of the passengers as special constables, for the preservation of nrder. The Annie Wilson had sailed irom'London fourteen days previous to the departure of the Sir Ralph ■> bercrombie. To Captain Gilbert, nommnnder of the" 'Sir Ralph, the passengers presented, on arrival, a lestimonial expressing their hitth.satisfac tion witii the ship, captain, and officers. "She is one of Shaw, Sayill vand Cos. line; brings a large general c irgo, and passengers. The ship Mataura, from Glasgow, is reported by Captain Gilbert, of the Sir Ralph Abercrombfe, aa

having been spoken by him to the westward of the Snares on Wednesday last. The weather has since been foggy, and the'winds baffling, circumstances which have probably delayed her arrival, but, as there is at present a signal at the Heads for a steamer, it is expected that she is now in the offing. The fine American-built fore-and-aft schooner Lombard, which has traded to and from this psrt for some time, is stated to have been disposed of by I Capt. Harding to Mr Johnson, of Gipps Land, for the sum of £2,500. It is understood that the Lombard, to whose peculiar rig there are few masters in the cplonies habituated, is to be fitted up as a barque or brig, and to undergo tins change, will shortly proceed to Hobart Town. .She will probably continue to be employed ia the cattle trade, for which she is by her construction particularly well adapted. The barque Holyrood, bound for Lyttelton, and which put into Hobart Town in a leaky state, sailed from the latter port on the Ist instant, after undergoing thorough repairs. The brig Jane is the next expected arrival from Hobart Town, and the Alarm is advertised as on the bi-'rth at the same place for this. The ship Mataura, expected from Glasgow, is an American: built ship, and was formerly named .Neptune's Bride. Is an eight years' old ship, and is understood to be a vessel of fast-sailing qualities.
