Miss Viola Dana, who played the principal parts in the Edison dramatic successes, "The Stoning" and Childrcn of Eve." is seen to great advantage in the Edison four-reel drama "Gladiola/' which will be screened at Haywarils' to-morrow night. Ihe storv is placed in beautiful surroundings', where the wonderful gladiola flowers are grown, and different scenes traverse acres upon acres of the flower. Miss Viola Dana rises to heights of dramatic art in the various pretty scenes of the plav which concern the life of "Gladiola," a country maiden wlio forsakes the love of a country lad for the glitter and glamor of a smoothtongued adventurer. Too late she finds out that her impetuous marriage \ras invalid. Broken in health \ and spirit. "Gladiola" wanders back to the country, where she secures that peace of mind and happiness—the birthright of everv woman. Hie part of "Gladiola" as played by Miss Viola Dana is characterised with great delicacy and power, and her acting impresses with subtle fofce. Supporting pictures include a verv fnunv Pathe-color comedy "Wiffles ill War Time," "Gaumont Graphic," "Making Big Shells," and ""Hie Beachcombers."
