."• » — In the death of George A. Williams, of Wellington, this week there passed away one of the old originals of Rugby football m » this ' country. He was a member of the famous native team of 1888, a huge forward of extraordinary vigor m younger years. A keen follower of the code all his days, the late Mr. Williams was able to contribute a couple of valuable articles to this journal prior . to the departure of the All Blacks of 1924, for whom he rightly predicted a great tour of successes. The late . Mr. Williams was an office-bearer m the Poneke Club, of which many representatives were at the. graveside and as pall-bearers. His. one-time membership of the police force was also remembered by heads! of the department m Wellington.
