OBITUARY.
MR. EDWARD WALTER
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] STRATFORD. Saturday.
The death lias occurred of Mr. Edward Walter, a former M.P. for Stratford, at the age of 66 years, lie was born in Cornwall and came to New Zealand in 1886. After a year in the Waikato and Hawke's Bay, Mr. Walter took up land at Douglas, where he lived until his dentil. He rendered long service to local bodies, and was a former chairman of the Stratford County Council. He defeated the Hon. R. Masters fot the Stratford seat in 1925, but lost it subsequently to Mr. W. J. Poison, M.P. Mr. W alter had been ill for the last six months.
