In the Supreme Court to-day, before the Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) and Judges Chapman, Stringer, Salmond and Adams and' a full gathering of members of ,the Bar, inducting representatives of other centres, feeling reference was made to the death of the late Mr. Martin Chapman, K.C. . The Attorney-General, Sir P. D. Bell, gave a comprehensive review of Mr. Chapman's career, and said that regret at his death was shared by the whole of the New Zealand Bar. When the firs't King's Counsel was appointed in New Zealand Mr. Chapman was amonff the first seven to receive that honour - At the time of his death he was the senior member of the Bar in New Zealand. Sir Robert Stout aim made feelinff reference to the late Mr. Chapman.
