MR. VIGOR BROWN EXPLAINS.
OPENING SPEECH AT NAPIER. [by telegraph.—press association.]
NAPIER. Tuesday. Mr Vigor Brown, the official Reform candidate for Napier, opened his campaign to-night, addressing a large audience in the Municipal Theatre. Ef> gave an account of his stewardship, and instanced matters in which he considered he had been of service to the district. The candidate received a somewhat mixed reception, a large number, no doubt, being present to get fun out of the meet- ■ * Numerous interjections, mostly humorous, were fired at the speaker. In reference to his change of party, Mr Brown said, in answer to an interjection, that ho had not turned' his coat. Mr. ATissev had come his way.
