DEATH OF DR. SYMONDSKENNY, OF ONEHUNGA.

Late on Monday night at his residence, "Bleak House," Norman's Hill, Onehunga, Dr. Svmonds-Kenny passed away. For some months the deceased had been suffering from an internal cancer, disease of the heart being also present. He gradually sank, until, aoout a fortnight ago, he was compelled finally to take to his' bed. Dr. \V. U. Scott was assiduous in his attentions to his patient, but, in spite of all ins care and skill, the end came as stated above. Ihe late Dr. Alexander Symonds-Kenny, who was 47 years of age, was a member of the Royal College of burgeons, England, and a fellow of King's College, London. For 16 years he occupied the position of senior demonstrator of anatomy to King's Hospital. He was the youngest son oi the late Lieutenant-Colonel W. H. Kenny, of the 73rd Black Watch regiment, formerly a member of the New Zealand Legislative Council. The deceased gentleman was born at Onehunga, and for some time was on the staff of the Melanesia!! Mission, at Norfolk Island. He afterwards proceeded to England to qualify as a medical man, and since his return to New Zealand about three years ago he has practised his profession at Onehunga. He took a great interest in Anglican Church matters, being a member of the Diocesan Synod and a member of the standing committee of that body. Ho was a gentleman in the highest sense, and his kindness of heart and genial manner had endeared him to a very large circle of friends. He is survived by a widow and three children, and, in addition, leaves a brother (Mr. 11. Eyre-Kenny, S.M., Wanganui) and two sisters, one of whom is the wife of Mr. W. C. Kensington, chief draughtsman in the local office of the Lands and Survey Department. The funeral will take place to-day, a short service being held at St. Peter's Church, Onehunga, the interment taking place at St. Stephen's, Parnell. where deceased's parents ate also buried.
