THE ODD FELLOWS' ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION.
The anniversary oi' the Waikato Lodge of Odd Fellows was celebrated at the Thames 011 Thursday last. The muster was ab St. George's Hall, Grahamstown, where there were about one hundred and thirty brethren in regalia present. P.P.G.M. Plaice and Bro. Grant marshalled the procession, which ■was headed by the British Ensign, borne by one of the brethren. The Volunteer Band made a full muster, and marched at the head of the procession after the flag, playing a number of suitable marches. The banner of the Good Intent Lodge, Auckland, was borne in front of the Odd Fellows immediately after the band, and nest in order marched the three district officers—P.G-.M. Fleming, D.P.G.M. Wright, and P.C.S. Derrom. They were followed by the officers in due order : P.P.G.M. Waite, P.P.G.M. Coombes, and P.P.G.M. Cole. Tho " dispensation" of the Waikato Lodge was borne by two P.V.G-.s, and was followed by Gr.M. Beaumont, N.G-. Taylor, Y.G. Leydon, Secretary Lindsay, and the rest of the Waikato Lodge. In the above order the procession marched to Grahamstown, whero they were joined by the members of the Charles Bruce Lodge to the number of thirty. The members of this lodge wore rosettes in lieu of regalia. They were marshalled by P.Gr.M. Thackray, of the Ros3 Lodge, Hokitika. They fell in at the rear of tho procession in tho following order, headed, of course, by the dispensation of the Lodge : —IST.G-. Kobson, Secretary Jenkins, Treasurer E. Thomas, and the rest of the members. The procession then marched to Tararu, and the day was spent in amusements. St. George's Hall liad been decorated with flowers and evergreens, the banners and dispensations of the order, and flags and streamers of various hues. It was determined that, as the supper-room was too small to seat the whole of tho company at one time, the addresses should be "delivered in the ball-room before dancing commenced, and, to vary the proceedings, the Cornish gleosingers gave ft choiee selection of pieces which wero much appreciated. The platform was oscupied by Brother James Mackay, jun.,,who presided, supported by P.P.G.M. Plaice and P.P.M.G. Cole (of tho Good Intent Lodgs, Auckland), and D.P.G-.M. Wright rand Secretary Bropby (Fountain of Friendship Lodge, Auckland, V.G. Leydon, P.G. Taylor, G.M. Beaumont, and Secretary Lindsay (Waikato Lodge). The proceedings were opened by the band playing an overture. —Speechos were made by P.P.G.M. Cole, N.G. Taylor, Plaice, P.P.G-.M, and tho Chairman.— The Cornish glee-singers performed selections of music at intervals, and the whole affair was successfully wound up with a supper and ball.
