A special and important meeting of the directors of the Caledonian Society will be held to-mbrrow evening in the Borough Council Chambers at 8 o'clock. The meeting is called for the purposo of dealing with tho championship pro. gramme, and a full attendance is requested. Fathers M'Enroe and Henry, two Vincontian priests, who have lately arrived from Sydney, are at the present time conducting a mission at the Oamara Basilica. The congregations are larga and attentive. An examination was lately conducted by Mr Porgusson in sight singing, and for those under 12 Boafcrice Pyle was awarded first prize, for those over 12 Bessio Brown was first. Mr George Brownlee conducted an'ex- , amination of nolo singing, and after a (very long examination, in the course of which he had to get several of the con-testants.-.to fling, four times, he placed Beatrice Pyle first in that section also. The Tonic Sol-Fa College' granted its junion certificate to Bessie Brown. The prizes and certificate were presented by the Rev. •'W. Wright last night, with a few pleasant remarks.
